English Literature refers to the study of texts from around the world, written in English. By studying English Literature, you will learn how to analyze a multitude of texts and write clearly using several different styles. Generally, literature refers to different types of text including novels, non-fiction, poetry, and plays, among other forms.
To make things simple, literature is the combination of an individual’s perspective, imagination, thoughts and feelings all glued together in conveying a message and creating a story through the many different art forms such as novels, short stories, poetry, and drama.
But you might be asking yourself, why literature?
That’s a great question my friend, and I’ve just the answer for your question.
Learning literature helps us open our third eye, as it allows us to live our life in a much more freeing and artistic manner. As we study and analyse the wonderful works of literature, it helps us appreciate the beauty in everything as well as opening our minds into accepting the many differences of the world.
